AQUATIC BODYWORK

Aquatic Bodywork, also known as Watsu, is a therapeutic practice that combines the weightlessness of warm water with fluid movements, gentle stretches, and massage to promote deep relaxation, enhance flexibility, and alleviate various physical and mental health conditions.

What to expect

Aquatic Bodywork, is a therapeutic practice that evolved from Zen Shiatsu, offering a deeply relaxing experience by combining the weightlessness of warm water with fluid, dynamic movements, gentle stretches, and massage. Developed in 1980 by Harold Dull in California, this form of therapy takes place in a heated pool where a trained practitioner guides participants through graceful sequences that enhance flexibility, reduce stiffness, and alleviate various physical and mental health conditions. The unique properties of water allow for effortless movement and profound relaxation, making it beneficial for a wide range of individuals, including those with Parkinson’s disease, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and even those overcoming a fear of water. Suitable for all ages and abilities, Aquatic Bodywork promotes improved posture, reduced pain, and a deep sense of well-being.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Aquatic Bodywork is for anyone seeking deep relaxation, improved flexibility, and relief from physical or mental stress. It’s especially beneficial for individuals with conditions like Parkinson’s disease, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and those undergoing sports rehabilitation. Pregnant women, overweight individuals, people with reduced mobility, and even those with a fear of water can also greatly benefit from this therapy, as it offers a safe, supportive, and soothing environment. It is suitable for all ages and abilities, and no prior swimming experience is required.
