At Posture Dynamics our foot and ankle clinic integrates the services of Osteopathy sports massage, orthotics when needed and prescriptive exercises to help settle and stabilise foot and ankle problems.
The human foot and ankle is a complex and highly specialised biomechanical structure. The foot is designed to be strong enough to bear the body’s weight, but be flexible enough to allow us to walk, dance and run. The is accomplished by having multiple joints some of which are quite mobile and others of which are quite immobile. It is composed of at least 28 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments. It is therefore not surprising that this region is a common area for injury and pain.
Foot and ankle malfunction can result in chronic and acute pain.
Some common complaints we can help with are:
- Fore-Foot: Flat foot (low arch), Cavus foot (high arches) calluses, bunions, cramping, metatarsal pain and neuromas.
- Rear-Foot: Heel pain/spurs, growing pains, Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis.
- Gait: Knee, hip, pelvic and lower back pain, arthritis and poor posture.
At Posture Dynamics our foot and ankle clinic integrates the services of Osteopathy sports massage, orthotics when needed and prescriptive exercises to help settle and stabilise foot and ankle problems.
